FAMU Law Student Receives Judicial Internship with Florida Supreme Court

Aaron Brown, a second-year law student, will be joining the office of Justice James E. C. Perry as a summer intern.
Brown was able to secure this internship through his own initiative and will be the first FAMU College of Law student
to serve as an intern with the Florida Supreme Court. All accredited law schools in Florida are invited to send their
best students to take part in the program. Internships extending over the summer are available to students from
schools that do not participate in the program. Judicial Internships for federal courts or in the state’s high court are
considered among the most prestigious. The individuals in these positions not only learn the court’s process, but
also earn valuable experience in legal research and writing.

Brown will start his six-week internship with Justice Perry on May 17, 2010. His duties will include reviewing and making recommendations on petitions for discretionary review, and other matters as directed by the Justice’s staff. Brown, who serves as Second-Year Representative for the Student Bar Association and Staff Editor for FAMU Law Review, interned in 2009 with The Honorable Faye Allen of the Orange County Criminal Court.

Brown is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and pledged at the Xi Iota Chapter at the University of Central Florida.
